When in Squamish Once we are set-
tled in, we have a decision to make. We
can be like Stephen Lord Ronald who himself upon his horse
and rode madly off in all we
can take a 10-minute walk to the amazing
Squamish Adventure Centre alongside
the highway and collect the guides, maps
and information we need to lay out a plan
while enjoying a coffee and croissant on
the Caffe Garibaldi deck.
The tourist roofline looks like
spread eagle wings and is home to the
best visitor information centre we have
come across. Here you will find everything you need to get the most out of
your Sea to Sky visit. You can book any
activity and even rent bikes and paddleboards. Or, you can plan your visit in
advance at exploresquamish.com and
download the Explore Squamish Adventure Guide.
We take a few minutes to study local
history in the kiosks shaped like Salish cedar hats next to the centre before
walking Cleveland Avenue to explore
downtown. What we find is a main street
lined with colourful banners, flowers
and people sharing coffee and conversation on the sidewalk.
Boaters will find everything they need
to provision the boat within the downtown area. If you need a taxi to carry a
load to the marina, call Yellow Cabs 604892-5995. We spend two hours exploring
town, enjoying a tasty pub lunch at Howe
Sound Brewing across from the marina
